Flight Training
Training
Texas Helicopter Experience is a FAA approved FAR Part 141 flight school. We conduct primary
and advanced flight training in the Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters. We are also authorized
to train veterans and eligible persons under the Montgomery GI Bill.
Training takes place in class D airspace allowing students to gain valuable radio communication
experience from the beginning of their flight training.
Texas Helicopter Experience is also planning on adding several full motion simulators to our training center.
We recommend potential students visit our facility and talk with our staff to learn more about being a pilot and eligibility requirements for private and commercial pilots.

Enrollment Prerequisites
1.Already posses fixed wing commercial license.
2.FAA second class medical certificate.
■Course Objectives
This course prepares students for the FAA commercial pilot practical test. Students will obtain the aeronautical knowledge, skill and experience required to add a commercial rotorcraft category and helicopter class rating to an existing commercial pilot certificate.
■Course Description
This course is designed for pilots who wish to apply their present commercial skills to helicopter flying. It draws on the wealth of knowledge our instructors have of commercial helicopter operations. Ground school includes lessons on helicopter aerodynamics, systems and limitations, and emergency procedures. In the air, students will practice basic maneuvers first, followed by more advanced maneuvers such as 180-degree auto rotations.
